Never heard of a 10 dollar ride for less than a mile. Why doesn't your driver use his meter?

I was dissapointed today about how rushed this whole taxi ride was. The driver potrayed himself to resent me for being a paying customer. When the driver was unloading my stuff he droped a very large box of mine on its side and the drop caused the items to smush against the concreate and puncture the box. My items were not handled with care and he didn't unload everything, I still have to drive back to pick up my blanket that is in the trunk of his taxi cab. This over all experience was not satisfying at all.
